Small things that can help right now.

Breathe

The 4-7-8 technique is a simple way to slow down, focus on your breath, and give your body a moment to settle.

  1. 4Inhale gently through your nose
  2. 7Hold your breath without straining
  3. 8Exhale slowly through your mouth

Begin with a full exhale, then repeat the sequence for four rounds. Keep the pace comfortable. Return to normal breathing if holding your breath feels uncomfortable, and stop if you feel dizzy or short of breath.

Ground

Name five things you see, four you feel, three you hear, two you smell, and one you taste.

Pause

Before reacting, ask: What am I feeling? What do I need? What response supports the life I want?

Connect

Send one honest message: “I’m having a hard day. Can you stay with me for a few minutes?”

Simplify

Choose the smallest next step that would make the next ten minutes feel more manageable.
